HarmonyCa Aftercare
Thank you so much for trusting in us to look after your skin. To ensure the best results, please follow these aftercare steps:
Avoid wearing makeup for 12 hours minimum. Also avoid touching treated areas to minimise risk of infection.
As HarmonyCa continues to work by generating and laying down new collagen networks and fibres over a 12week period, it is recommended to havea follow-up appointment after 3 months to assess the area. We can then decide if further treatment is required to further improve your results.
Avoid strenuous exercise for the following 24 hours.
Avoid sun exposure, extremes of temperature such as saunas or sea swimming for at least 2 weeks to reduce complications.
What to do after treatment
Avoid alcohol for 24 hours.
Wash your face gently the evening after treatment, avoiding putting pressure on your face
You can shower/bath the day following your treatment
Massage after treatment is important to improve results from HarmonyCa. We recommend massaging the treated area for5 days after procedure, for 5 minutes a day up to 5 times per day. The massage technique will have been outlined to you by your practitioner.
You may wish to apply a cool, clean compress within 48 hours to the treatment areas to reduce swelling
Please do not lie down directly on the treatment sites for 24 hours.
Please do not get facials, wax or massage the treatment area for two weeks after treatment
Please avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, or other anti-inflammatory medication for 24 hours after treatment (unless prescribed) as this may increase bruising. You may take paracetamol if you feel discomfort
Please monitor treatment sites after treatment and contacts us if you have any concerns.
Immediately post treatment it is normal to experience some mild redness and swelling. This should be mild and should improve over time. It is common to experience bruising following an injectable treatment. This should resolve with time. Some mild tenderness and discomfort may occur, particularly after the local anaesthetic in the dermal filler wears off 30-40 mins post treatment. You may also feel the dermal filler as a little lumpy at first before it slowly and naturally integrates into your own skin tissue.
We advise that some treatments require stages of treatment to achieve the final desired result and this is why a review appointment is encouraged.
If you are unsure about your treatment result or any potential side effect please contact the clinic so that we can support you.
Contact us if you note:
Pain increasing in the treatment area or in other areas of the face/mouth.
Change to sensation (e.g. numbness) in the areas of treatment or other areas of face/mouth.
Increasing redness or swelling or pus.
Visual disturbance, squint or associated headache.
Signs of a coldsore
If the blood flow is disrupted to the skin you may see pallor (paleness) arising in the areas near or at treatment site or a net like rash, pustules on the skin, or mottled bruising. (Some pictures for guidance are emailed to you after treatment for you to refer to).
If you are very unwell please do not hesitate to attend your local A&E.
